Announcements

We plan on a few busy weekends ahead. Here is what happening!

  • September 4 & 5 we will be “Taking the Show on the Road” to Port McNeill in support of their Toy Run, Pig Roast and Poker Run. On Saturday & Sunday we will be set up at the Black Bear Resort with Harley-Davidson clothing and parts at 50% off regular price…or more!  Ride up and join in the fun!  For more info on their event please email Phil Vallee at sarge2@telus.net .
  •  September 11-12 is the return of our BYOB event. This means bring your own motorcycle, and is an opportunity to sell your motorcycle here without having people come to your home. It was successful when we tried it earlier this year so we thought a second try before autumn would be a great idea. Contact Chris Last at BYOB@stevedraneharley.com to register for a spot. Fee is $20. and covers both days. Inside the store we will hold our first ever HUGE GARAGE SALE. Steve wants us to clear our PARTS & CLOTHING inventory to make room for new fall stock……the deals will be 50% off and more!!!!!!
  •  September 11 is the date for this year’s Victoria Toy Run. It will depart from the shop at 10 am sharp. More details to come as this is part of the Fall Fun Rally hosted by the Canadian Motorcycle Cruisers. http://www.cmc-victoria.com/rally

The Motorcycle Ride for Dad completed the cross country tour in Victoria on Sunday August 29th with a stop at Steve Drane Harley-Davidson. 25 riders went coast to coast but were joined by hundreds of supporters for segments of the trip. The ride was to raise funds and awareness for the fight against prostate cancer and the Military Families Fund. The 29 day trip took them to as many military bases across Canada as possible and ended at CFB Esquimalt in Victoria.

OTHER STUFF

  • WI-FI

We’re pleased to announce that the dealership now is WI-FI ready!  If you are here and feel the need to “stay connected”, bring your laptop to the store, go up to the Hagen Room and you’re ready to go!

BROCHURES (from Jim)

Some of you are collectors of anything “Harley”.  Of those, some of you collect catalogs every year, and some want every catalog that is produced.

A Police Fleet catalog is one of those very hard items to find.  I seldom have more than the one I need!!

However, I have discovered a “cache” of 2009 Police Fleet catalogs – a limited number, mind you!

If you are one of these collector’s, come into the shop and see me personally.  I will be happy to share what I have here.  One per collector!!  PLEASE – no phone calls nor emails to reserve one.  Personal service only!!!!

STAINED GLASS

The raffle  has raised over $1500 so far for the family of the Justin Wendland who was killed. We have made the draw at our New Model Open House on  Saturday August 28th. Thanks to everybody who has supported this cause. The winner was Phil Vallee from Port McNeil!

Motorclothes Dept:

Due to popular demand we now have sew-on Steve Drane Harley-Davidson patches! Available at the front cashwrap!

 From the Service Dept:

WARRANTY STATUS FOR SELF-IMPORTED H-D® MOTORCYCLES

This applies only to those people who have purchased out-of-country, AND IMPORTED a Harley-Davidson® motorcycle AND are still under the factory warranty.   If this is not you, then you may disregard the following.

Briefly, if your bike meets the criteria above, your factory warranty has been “suspended”.  This suspension applies until you meet certain criteria.   Again, briefly, the bike must be inspected at a Harley-Davidson® dealership to ascertain that it meets Canadian standards.  Most likely, this may include KPH speedometer, and tail lights/license plate holders.  (This is not an all-inclusive list of requirements)

If you are affected by this, contact our Service Department for a copy of the full details.

Our EXPRESS LANE SERVICE is still available for riders requiring a quick oil change (not scheduled maintenance) or tire change……anything that can be done in an hour or less. No appointment needed.

Potential Problem with Harley Heated Vest

Harley-Davidson has notified us that there was a possible problem with some Harley Heated Vests part# 98325-09vm  and Heated Jacket Liners, Part # 98324-09vm   If you purchased one between Feb.1 2010 & June 15, 2010  and use it with the optional thermostat, the harness may cause it to stop working. See Gwyneth for more info. This is not a safety issue, just and inconvenience that can be fixed. This does not affect the Electrowear brand heated garments.
